I've been to both the Huntington Beach location and Fountain Valley location too many times to count as well as getting take out. I can always depend on Rol for a casual to go lunch or a nice date night. The lunch deals are a steal and I'm always extremely satisfied with the kaisen don or the spicy tuna and salmon donburi. I also often get the to go lunch bento box option. And all of those options are under $20! When dining in, each hand roll is made fresh in front of you and enjoyed at peak freshness. There is nothing better than the combination of crispy seaweed with the soft seasoned rice and delicate fish. It's also worth spending the extra few dollars on the kizami wasabi, truffle soy sauce, and yuzu kosho. I promise it'll make your food so much better than it already is.

Ever since I tried the Rol located in fountain Valley, I have been craving hand rolls for a long time. So I decided to try out the Huntington Beach area because they have both bar and table seating, and because I wanted a table seating because I was by myself lol. At first, I tried their premium rolls - toro and truffle, Toro, Uni and truffle, and lobster and truffle hand rolls. I was still hungry, so I decided to order their five piece hand roll set which consisted of salmon, spicy tuna, crunch, yellowtail, albacore, and scallops. they had exceptional service as I was not sure how it would work when ordering the separate hand roll sets since they usually serve you the next one when you are finished. But they gave me a good amount of time to finish my hand rolls before giving me the next one. And they always checked on me from time to time to make sure that I was doing okay. I was definitely satisfied, and I can't wait until the next time I come back.

food: i'm super picky when it comes to raw fish. i can't even eat at ayce sushi places because any hint of fishiness will make me nauseous, but rol hand rolls are super fresh and delicious. i got the 5 hand roll set + one blue crab hand roll and everything was great. my favorites were the spicy tuna crunch, albacore, and blue crab. service: amazing service, everyone was nice and quick. the hand roll chef made them at the perfect pace and it didn't feel too slow or rushed. ambiance: lively atmosphere, sit at the table for the chef to place the sushi directly onto your plate right after he makes it.

Always a 10/10 go to spot. Always consistent, delicious, and great service!! Parking kinda can be tough sometimes but the last 3 times, I was able to park out front fine. My FAVE is the scallop, salmon, yellowtail, and blue crab hand roll. Basically everything. We always order it with the truffle sauce. You can't go wrong with anything off this menu

I was doing my own personal hand roll tour in LA and NYC and ROL might be one of my favorites. The stand out was the Uni-toro roll. Fish was fresh and I'm drooling as I'm writing this out. I'm kind of a die hard for kazunori, because it's my college nostalgia restaurant, but ROL is slowly creeping up. I like their inari too, but will probably stick with just hand rolls next time. Servers are funny and ambiance is normal of a hand roll spot: dark and trendy. Typically, I know what I like so I don't really go for set menus, but maybe next time I'm in the area, I'll try that out.

Came here to say with my daughter for her birthday lunch. Got the set menu items 5 hand roll assortment: individual hand rolls salmon, spicy tuna, scallop, yellowtail and albacore. My daughter added a shrimp tempura hand roll to her meal plus a non alcoholic dragon fruit lemonade. We requested a bowl of sushi rice for our little one. Garlic edamame was spicy and delicious. Food was made to order, and had a good pacing between each roll. The rolls are individual hand rolls, about a two bite sized. I liked the scallop a lot: tender and saucy filling with just enough brushing rice. Server was friendly , he gave us a complementary cheesecake with candle to blow to celebrate the occasion. Quite packed for a late afternoon, some people seemed to be from nearby offices and wee either in scrubs or suits. Place is good for entertaining clients or the like. Industrial style interior, music was playing , tables not meant for large groups. We joined a waitlist , short 10 minutes to be seated. Parking has some posted as one hour only.

The only major issue at Kei concept is their managers with "debt collector faces" especially the guy at Vox in Fountain Valley! You're in service industry bro, a smile cost $0! Contrary to my past experience , I got the greatest warm welcome from the manager here! Super sweet attitude and professional human being! I celebrated my wife's promotion at Rol and Sophie made such a great experience, best experience ever! Food was amazing, make sure to try truffle sauce; server visited many time to make sure we had what we needed! Fine dining ambience, and top notch hygiene! Highly recommended! The best Kei concept restaurant so far! Great job guys!

Kei Concepts just never misses. Crazy how delicious and intimate this place is. Been here rounds after rounds whether it be for date night, hanging with friends, or just celebrating life and never had a bad experience. Always had amazing service and good drinks. p.s. they offer reservations and I recommend you placing a spot prior to dining ;) I normally order from the set menus and choose the 6-set because it offers a fair amount of items to try (especially if you plan on ordering more). I've also tried all of their premium handrolls. Lobster & Truffle is by far my favorite and always end up ordering more. I like to pair all of the handrolls with their Truffle Soy Sauce which you do have to purchase for an additional $2. Definitely worth it. For appetizers, I recommend their chili garlic edamame, miso soup, cucumber salad, crispy rice tartare, and salmon tartare. I've tried their fries and thought it was boring. But it's a good option for the kiddos or young ones! As far as alcohol... if you're looking for something sweet, order either the Sumo Diet or Princess Violet (this is prob. more popular due to having lychee flavor). Tokyo Breeze is also a really good choice in my opinion. If you're not much of an alcoholic, opt for the dragon fruit lychee lemonade. End it with any of their desserts because I thought they were all good lol.

Rol Hand Roll Bar, another offering from Kei Concepts, is an interesting spot with more than just hand rolls on the menu. I decided to try the 7 hand roll menu, which included salmon, spicy tuna crunch, scallop, yellowtail, albacore, unagi, and toro. While I enjoy hand rolls, I found these to be somewhat underwhelming. The rolls all had a similar flavor profile, primarily due to the overwhelming amount of crispy onion and green onion in each one. The fillings were also much more of a mush than I would have liked, which took away from the overall experience. I would have wanted to feel differences in consistency of the fish. It felt like the rolls were just a mix of barely seasoned rice and fish wrapped in seaweed--nothing that really stood out. Additionally, the staff member making the rolls seemed a bit disengaged throughout the dining process, which added to the lackluster atmosphere. While I appreciate the variety, I can't say I would return, as there wasn't anything that truly wowed me. It was a decent experience, but it didn't quite hit the mark for what I was hoping for.

Came here to finally try the kaisendon and it did not disappoint! It's an excellent addition to their menu at a great price point. It's a shame it's only available as a lunch item (until 4pm), as I'd easily order this as a dinner item, but understand it's probably a way to streamline things. In addition to being ridiculously aesthetic, this dish is delicious. Great blend of salmon, kanikama, spicy tuna, and scallop. Each ingredient was fresh and flavorful, and blended incredibly well altogether along with the cucumber slices and seaweed bits. I was skeptical about liking this more than the hand rolls, but this dish blew me away. I wouldn't say either is better than the other, but it just depends on what you're up for more. I like that getting the kaisendon let's me just sit and enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace. Love the miso broth that's added at the end! I left a little bit of rice, as they advise you to do. The broth is super delicious!!! I was also skeptical about this (I don't even know why I know Kei Concepts restaurants don't miss), but that's just the cynic in me. Excellent way to end the meal. It's hot, flavorful, savory, and slightly tangy. 10/10 would absolutely get the kaisendon again, and will. Service is amazing as always. Servers were prompt, attentive, and very kind! Interior and exterior of the building is great, clean, very well designed and modern. There's parking in front of the store, but if that gets packed there seems to be a parking structure in the back, so parking shouldn't be an issue. Will absolutely come again!
